Steve Sweeney’s career spans over 45 years serving the College and University community specializing in dining and support services to many of USA’s most prestigious institutions. Currently, he is a consultant specializing in the education market. 

Prior to his consulting business he was the President and CEO of Chartwells, a food and services provider to over 300 colleges and universities. He held this role for 20 years. Under his leadership the company enjoyed unprecedented growth becoming a $2B USD foodservice organization with over 25,000 associates. He was also an officer and board member of Compass Group NA the nations largest food and services company. Compass Groups 2021 annual revenues are $15B USD. He also presided over Compass Group's International Foodservice Forum overseeing sales growth and marketing efforts in 14 countries. 

Before joining Compass in 1996 he was the Vice President of Operations for Flik International a New York based foodservice company. His responsibilities included every aspect of operating the company until it was acquired by Compass Group NA. 
Steve began his career with Servomation a foodservice and vending company based in Boston. 

In addition to his professional accomplishments he is a distinguished professor at Johnson and Wales University a premier university specializing in hospitality, culinary and business studies. 

In 2005 he was the recipient of a Silver Plate Award - the foodservice industry’s highest award for business excellence.
