Professor of Computer Science - President Assistant for Web and Computerization at Petra University

Ghassan Issa has dedicated his illustrious career to the field of education, making significant contributions that have left an indelible mark on institutions both in the United States and Jordan. With a passion for computer science, he embarked on his educational journey in 1990 as an Instructor of Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth College. His exceptional leadership qualities led him to assume the role of Division Chair of Information Science, where he held coordination authority over five campuses of Commonwealth College.

In August 1992, Dr. Ghassan Issa made his way to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, known for its picturesque charm and home to Little League Baseball. He joined Penn State University, Williamsport campus (Penn College), as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. His dedication and expertise in the field propelled him to become the Chair of the Computer Science Department, a testament to his academic prowess.

In 1994, Ghassan Issa returned to Jordan, his homeland, where he joined the Applied Science University (ASU) in Amman. Over the course of thirteen years, he served ASU in various capacities, from an Assistant Professor to an Associate Professor, Director of the Computer Center, Founder and Director of ASULINK Internet Service Provider, Founder and Director of the ICDL Certified Center, and ultimately, the Dean of the Computer Science College.

In 2007, Ghassan Issa transitioned to Petra University (PU) and was entrusted with the role of Dean of Information Technology. His responsibilities extended to being the chief coordinator for the university's e-learning strategy, as well as active participation in numerous University Committees and councils, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence.
